It features beautiful cinematography and great production design

The film is beautifully made and has strong visual optics. The actors are strong, especially Richard Gere who plays the protagonist.

It may not be for everyone, but I think it is one of Paul Schrader’s greatest achievements and a gift for cinema lovers

He delivers a terrific and unforgettable performance in the style of Jack Nicholson in FIVE EASY PIECES – a complicated, not always likable but compelling character. Recommended.
